Journey to Zero-Waste

We held a zero-waste even last week called Journey to Zero-Waste. We put up a couple rolls of paper and asked attendees to answer some questions.

What is your favourite zero-waste hack?

  • Bring container to restaurants

  • Refill at Bulk Barn or the Nickel Refillery

  • Bring reusable bags for shopping and reusable mug for coffee

  • Baby food in jars instead of plastic cups

  • Buy used instead of new

  • DIY cleaning products (laundry

  • Chewing on whole cloves for fresh breath

  • Carry cutlery in purse

What's stopping you from going Zero-Waste?

  • Too much packaging at the grocery store and other stores, for example crackers always have a plastic sleeve and cheese is wrapped in plastic

  • Allergies

  • Convenience

  • Time

  • Lack of options

  • Cost

  • Not enough store that carry plastic-free options

Where would you like to start?

  • Grocery stores

  • Schools

  • Co-op composting

  • At the Nickel Refillery

  • Clothing manufacturers (made with natural fibres)
